About Us

GREEN PLANET is created in recognition of the importance Environmental issues like Global Warming, Climate Change, Melting Ice, Heat on, Forestry Activities, Public awareness, Eco chain programs, ban on Plastic, Students interest programs in Environmental Activities etc. in India’s overall Environment and development Strategy. The Result of a unique partnership between Non Government Organizations and Government also. Greenplanet was established in 2008 in Kalol supported by the local Environmental lovers and extreme hard work by Mr.Ahmed Pathan. Greenplanet is ENGO and that’s why our goals and aims are always remaining over the Environmental issues and topics. At the time it began its activities, Greenplanet was one of the organization actively engaged in environmental education in the Gujarat State. While carrying out programmes in different parts of the Gujarat, it was located only at Kalol-Ahmadabad. Within five years of activities, it was realized that for a Gujarat as vast as other states and its diversity, physical presence was important for effective implementation. Based on this, the first regional office was opened for the Northern Region in 2008. Since then it has been a conscious effort to have an office or presence in the geographical area of work. Greenplanet urges to Government of Gujarat and Central Government of India to setup solar plants, Wind Farms and Biomass units as Gujarat have the longest coast line of 1600 km, full time sun light and numbers of animals in Gujarat. Greenplanet believe in Green and Clean Energy. Greenplanet is seriously thinking to tie up with GEDA and some other companies to work to hatch our goals

GREEN TIPS & PLEDGE

  • Green your daily routine! Say no to plastic bags when you shop. Use cloth bags instead.
  • Conserve energy! Turn off the lights to brighten our environment.
  • Use rainwater for your indoor plants – they love it, and you’ll save water at the same time.
  • Choose public transport. It reduces your carbon emissions.
  • Don’t keep the water running while brushing your teeth. You will save as much as 11 litres (3 gallons) every time!
  • Green your office: print double-sided, turn off monitors, start an office recycling program.
  • Host a World Environment Day celebration. Clean up your neighborhoods, carpool with friends, have a vegan (no animal products) dinner party! And don’t forget to register your activity on the WED website!
  • Jog outside and save the energy you would have used on the treadmill!
  • Mobilise your friends to celebrate World Environment Day! Use Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, SMS, text, email – it doesn’t matter how, just get the word out!
  • Plant a tree this year! This is the International Year of Forests so why not celebrate by planting a tree with friends or family

SUSTAINABILITY AT HOME

  • Create shade on the northern and western sides of your house by using shutters, blinds, plants or trees.
  • Carefully arranged shading will lessen the need for air-conditioning in summer, whilst providing warmth in the winter.
  • The aim is to keep out sunlight when the sun is at its highest - at midday and in summer - while letting sunlight enter the home when the sun is low in winter or early morning.

Make your own spray and wipe: Fill a bottle mostly with water, add a squeeze of dishwashing liquid and a capful or thereabouts of 100% eucalyptus oil. Shake gently to mix. Works well on all surfaces. This can be diluted again in a little water in a bucket and is great for those finger marks that are hard to move from laminex finishes.

Make your own disinfectant: Can be used for toilets and other household cleaning. Mix 50ml (1.6oz) of eucalyptus oil with a liter of water. You can store this as you would a normal disinfectant

Have a fresh laundry scent: Add 1-2 teaspoonfuls of the oil to your load of washing for a fresh scent, along with microbial benefits.

Revive old hanging car air fresheners: Add a few drops of the oil to hanging car air fresheners that are almost dead to reinvigorate them.

Use as a room air freshener: Mix a quarter of a teaspoon or 15 drops of eucalyptus oil with a half teaspoon of vodka, place in an atomizer/spray bottle and add 2 cups of water. This should be quite subtle, so you may need to add more.

Make a bug repellent: Add half a teaspoon mixed with half a liter of water to make a good bug repellent for plants.

Use on its own: Eucalyptus oil can be used to remove stickers, decal residue from glass, and grease and ink from clothes
